005 / FUNDING INTELLIGENCE
Funding requires the right applicant.
An internal-to-public reference to official agencies, deadlines, eligibility gates and potential project fit. This is not an application portal.
Official-source reference collection
The four source pages below are independent federal or federally supported opportunities. MACRI’s pages summarize them for planning and link directly to the issuing agencies. This library is not affiliated with the agencies, does not confer eligibility and does not represent a grant award.
NSF 26-510 — SBIR/STTR
Federal small-business R&D solicitation for high-risk technology commercialization. The applicant must meet SBIR/STTR small-business requirements; a proposed institute alone is not automatically eligible.

- Entity gate: Determine whether the actual applicant is a qualifying small business, producer, university, nonprofit or public agency.
- Project gate: Separate private operating costs from eligible R&D, sustainability, rural-development or teaching activities.
- Deadline gate: Treat expired cycles as research references, not open calls.
- Budget gate: Check cost sharing, matching funds, reimbursements and allowable expenses in the current NOFO or solicitation.
- Documentation gate: Confirm registrations, certifications, PI status, collaborations and rights to data/IP before applying.
- Approval gate: Obtain necessary signatures and maintain a dated proposal and submission record.
Immediate priority
The NSF 26-510 solicitation lists November 4, 2026 as its next full-proposal deadline. That near-term date does not make MACRI itself eligible. An eligible business applicant must independently meet the solicitation and submission rules. The other three links include older program information or closed 2026 announcements; new windows should be verified on the issuing agencies’ websites before work begins.
