002 / VISUAL IDENTITY
A distinctive blue. An enduring identity.
An original, institutional palette designed for clarity, credibility and long-term use across research communication.
MACRI Blue Spectrum — Version 1.0
This is the MACRI project’s adopted working visual palette, created October 28, 2026. It combines dark academic blues with a bright aqua signature. The colors are original design selections, not an assertion of exclusive ownership or registered trademark rights.
Identity proportions
- Use Institute Midnight (#081B36) for approximately half of hero/navigation visual weight.
- Use Research Navy (#123B67) and Scholars Blue (#236B9B) for headings, navigation and infographics.
- Reserve Discovery Aqua (#67C9D5) for signatures, accent rules, selected highlights and restrained calls to action.
- Use Arctic Mist (#EAF6FA) and Paper White (#FBFDFE) for long-form research documents.
Typography and presentation
Display typography: a readable traditional serif, such as Georgia. Body: an accessible system sans-serif. Favor generous margins, strong contrast, consistent heading levels, structured figures, numbered references and ample white space. Do not use Tiffany & Co. logos, box imagery, company names as brand elements, or suggest an affiliation.
Logo and document rules
- Until a final original mark is approved, set MACRI in uppercase wordmark typography and append “Research Initiative” or “Proposed Institute” when appropriate.
- Do not depict the seal of a government agency or university as an institutional endorsement.
- Use labels such as “Working Paper,” “Concept Brief,” “Evidence Review” or “Project Proposal” instead of claiming a peer-reviewed publication.
- All pages should carry a date, document owner, source attribution, accessible text alternatives and the project’s legal-status disclaimer.
